"Mommy, can we visit the cows again?... and have some more ice cream?"

Taylor "convinced" us to go back to the Arboretum to visit the cows, and, of course, have another helping of Amy's delicious ice cream. This time, Taylor, Evan, and I all shared Oreo ice cream with cookie dough. Sounds weird, but soooo delish! Blake had his own serving of 1/2 Oreo and 1/2 Gingerbread Pancake ice cream... "Daddy doesn't share." Evan and Taylor both preferred the Oreo ice cream to last week's Honey Graham. They both ate a ton! Afterward, we walked down to the duck pond and Taylor took pictures with the turtle and stalked the ducks. She followed the ducks quaking and hissing at them, while the ducks waddled away from her and into the woods, quacking. I could just hear the ducks telling each other, "Let's go into the woods, because the crazy quacking girl won't follow us in there!" Tay was so bummed that they went into the woods. Meanwhile, Evan was taking a much needed Siesta in his stroller after his Man vs. Food helping of Oreo ice cream.

Evan's First Amy's Ice Cream!!

We finally took Evan for his first taste of Amy's Ice Cream. At first, he grimaced, but after a few tasted of Mommy's Honey Graham ice cream, he decided that it was worth the cold, and ate some more. After we ate, Taylor wanted to go climb on the Arboretum cows, so she claimed on most of them, including the one whose ear had mysteriously fallen off at one point. Taylor wondered if the cow lost it and she looked for it on the ground when she got off. Too cute.

Sprinkler Surprise!

Taylor was playing outside on one of the hot days we have already had this spring, when Blake came into the back yard with the sprinkler, ready to water the grass. Taylor had no intention of going inside any time soon, so she decided it was a good idea that she run through the sprinklers... fully clothed. At first, she said, Mommy, I'm getting a little sprinkle on my dress!" Before I knew it, she was dripping from head to toe, giggling, adn racing through the water. When she got bored with that, she just stood there and let the sprinkler giver her a back massage. When she was finally ready to come inside, she stood on the back porch, stripped down to nothing, walked into the grass, and squatted to pee. hahaha She said, "Look, Mommy, I tee tee in the grass again!" She was so proud. :)
Meanwhile, Evan was inside trying and trying again to make his way around the ottoman, happy as a clam. :)

Here's the back-story to peeing in the grass: Just a few days before, we were on our way back from Weatherford and Taylor woke up from a looong nap. She immediately started crying saying she had to go potty, and of course, we were in the middle of nowhere. We pulled over and I showed her how to squat and pee in the grass. She was mortified, so when she finally was successful, Blake and I had a mini- party on the side of Highway 183. Lovely.

Rondad's Birthday!

We all went to Bebe and Rondad's for Rondad's birthday. We had a great time and some gooood food. Ron made some awesome steaks wiht all the fixins, we went to my favorite Italian place, Pastafina, and got the traditional, and always delicious breakfast tacos from the little place by their house. For most of the day Saturday, Blake and Ron cleared a TON of brush from behind their house, while Brenda, the kids, and I went shopping. I know... it's rough... the girls had a difficult day. Between the brush clearing and shopping, Taylor found the time to ride on the "tractor" with Rondad, which she thoroughly loved, and chatted with Rondad and Daddy outside by the grill. Too cute. By the end of the weekend, the kids were pooped. Taylor was so sleepy, that on Sunday on the way to Pastafina, she passed out in the car and didn't wake up until the food go to the table. Evan got to try his first taste of spaghetti and he was "ok" with it. We'll keep trying. At least he got to try the best spaghetti first. Mommy's got a lot to live up to! We had a great time at Bebe and Rondad's!

Happy Birthday, Blake!!

Blake and I went to Enchanted Rock for his birthday. We left the kiddos at home with Blake's cousin, Monica while we hiked and climbed. Of course, Blake was very much against us climbing up the marked trails to the peaks, so we made our own way over rocks, through tiny cracks, and through bushes that somehow grow on top of the enormous rocks. We climbed the 3 big rocks that look like mountains. It was a lot of fun! We were tired and hungry by the time we got back to the house, so we took the kids to J&J BBQ and got BBQ Nachos (soooo delish!), catfish, and a hamburger. Blake ate most of it, but he loved every minute of it. :)
(Keep in mind, these pics were taken at the end of a very long day and 3 wicked climbs... so don't judge my hair and crooked hat! hehe)

My Very First Ice Cream Cone!!

Evan got a taste of his first ice cream come on Daddy's birthday, April 16. At first, he wasn't so sure, especially since it was sooo cold. Then, he decided it was pretty good! Against my better judgment, his first taste of the deliciousness of ice cream was a Skinny Cow cone, not the one and only Amy's. Skinny Cows are really good, we will teach him what the really good stuff is very soon! (Also, some other cute pics of him standing with the assistance of the ottoman.)
